What is shaktipat?

Shaktipat is a Hindu and Sikh spiritual tradition that involves the transfer of spiritual energy from a teacher or spiritual master to a student or seeker. It is believed that this transfer of energy awakens the dormant spiritual energy, or kundalini, within the seeker and helps them progress on their spiritual journey. Shaktipat can be initiated through a variety of means, including a touch, a word, or simply the presence of the spiritual teacher.

In shaktipat, the teacher is seen as a vessel of divine energy, and the transfer of this energy is believed to bring about an experience of spiritual awakening and enlightenment. This awakening can manifest as a range of physical, mental, and emotional experiences, and is considered to be the beginning of a process of spiritual growth and self-discovery.

Shaktipat is often associated with the Nath tradition of Hinduism, as well as with certain Sikh and Tantric traditions. The practice is often considered a valuable tool for spiritual growth, and is seen as a way to accelerate one's spiritual progress and achieve liberation and enlightenment more quickly. However, it is important to seek guidance from a qualified and experienced teacher, as the process of shaktipat can be intense and transformative, and should not be undertaken lightly.
