What is the first written language?

The first written language is still a matter of debate among scholars, as the origins of writing are not well understood and different forms of writing may have arisen independently in different parts of the world. However, the earliest known form of writing is cuneiform, which was used in ancient Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq) around 3200 BC. Cuneiform was a system of writing using wedge-shaped marks made on clay tablets with a reed stylus.

Other early writing systems include Egyptian hieroglyphs, which date back to around 3100 BC, and the Indus script, which was used in the ancient Indus Valley civilization of present-day Pakistan and India around the same time. These early writing systems were used primarily for record-keeping and administration, but later developed into more sophisticated forms of communication.
